un incidente in gondola - is not a performance, but an orchestrated accident. The artist considers it as a piece of sculpture, or as a social sculpture. Hans Winkler borrows the symbol of Venice - the gondola with gondoliere. After special preparations by the artist, who sits on it, the gondola did sink in a canal. The project addresses a City flooded with tourism and continually struggling with the preservation of sinking monuments. With this work Hans Winkler is showing the fragile line between reality and fantasy, between truth and manipulation. -ist ein inszenierter Unfall und eine zeitlich befristete Skuptur in Venedig (Ästhetik des Versinkens) . Hans Winkler borgte sich für den 8.10 ein Symbol Venedigs - eine Gondel mit Gondoliere. Am 8.Oktober sank eine typisch venezianische Gondel samt Gondoliere und Künstler während einer Rundfahrt in einem Kanal der Lagunenstadt. Das Boot wurde vorher vom Künstler fachgerecht für das Sinken "präpariert". Ausgangspunkt für diesen Eingriff bildet die Situation Venedigs, die zum einen von Zerstörung und Verfall bedroht, zum anderen vom Massentourismus überflutet ist. Die Arbeit zeigt die Linie zwischen Realität und Phantasie, zwischen Wahrheit und Manipulation.
